Ciara and Paddy’s Wedding in Cork

Here just some shots of a recent wedding in beautiful Co. Cork…

The bridal bouquet was artistically made from textiles. Stunning!!

I loved the decoration in the church. Very Christmas-wintery wedding touch…

Since it was heavily raining on the day we were kind of limited to the interiors of the Hotel for wedding shots. We could escape into the drizzel for very short only…

Caitlin and Chris’ wedding in Monaleen Church, Limerick, and Doonbeg, Co. Clare

If you are looking for a most luxurious wedding venue in Co. Clare, you cannot miss Doonbeg hotel and golfclub!

Caitlin and Chris, both from the US, came with their small families to Ireland, as it was their dream to get married in Ireland. They booked their dream wedding venue in the beautiful hotel and golf club in Doonbeg, Co. Clare.

The various scenic backdrops in Doonbeg in Co. Clare offered just the perfect location for romantic wedding photography.

My day started at the church of St. Mary Magdalen in Monaleen, Limerick. The Monaleen Parish is located to the east of Limerick city, just off the Dublin Road, in Castletroy.

The narrow bell tower of Monaleen Church was perfect for this bridal portrait.

It was quite a windy wedding day and the bride had to look after her long vail well.

After the ceremony in Monaleen church we went straight to Doonbeg. I have never been to Doonbeg before so I was absolutely delighted to have the honor of taking wedding photographs at this amazingly situated venue. A short distance from Shannon Airport and under 200 miles from Dublin City, the coastal resort of Doonbeg is closely situated to a huge number of Ireland’s most desired cultural attractions including the extraordinary landscape of The Burren, The Cliffs of Moher, and Ireland’s surfing mecca, Lahinch.

Caitlin and Chris asked me to stop in the village, as they just loved the flower full bridge. I loved it, too, as the village and bridge added a different style and way more country side character to our wedding photographs.

I love this image, but it took me a while to photoshop the pipe out of the picture which was going along the waterside of the bridge…

Eventually we arrived at the Doonbeg Lodge. An amazing place for wedding photographs, as you could actually spend an hour or more just photographing around and inside the luxurious Doonbeg Lodge…

The area around Doonbeg has lots to offer, whether you’re looking for a day away from the links or something to keep the family busy. It’s easy to get out there and enjoy County Clare! The summer months bring all sorts of festivals and events such as the Willie Keane Festival (traditional music and Irish set dancing), the Doonbeg Jazz Festival, and the Doonbeg Family Festival as well as active pursuits such as horse riding, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling, canoeing, windsurfing, orienteering, and archery.

Doonbeg Golf Club officially opened in 2002, and was immediately designated as Golf Digest’s “Best New International Course.” In 2010 it held the prestigious title of European Golf Resort Of The Year which was awarded by the IAGTO. Enjoying a breathtaking location on the Atlantic coast matched with distinctive services and facilities. Doonbeg’s unique accommodations and close proximity to Shannon Airport make it one of the world’s most desirable golf destinations.

We stuck to our wedding photography for now and were lucky to have the kind service to be taken around and down to the sea by the very friendly staff.

Caitlin and Chris were just so relaxed and easy going that they didn’t mind even stepping into the ice cold water of the Atlantic sea. We had great fun taking their wedding photographs at the coast of Co. Clare!

Thank you guys for that!!

Ashley Park House, a wedding venue in Co. Tipperary

Ashley Park House is still a somewhat hidden jewel among the wedding venues in Co. Tipperary. My personal experience with the house, it’s owners and staff really made me an enthusiastic advertiser for Ashley Park House as a B&B, as a venue for family occasions, such as birthdays and wedding anniversaries, but also as a wedding venue.

Ashley Park House is an 18th century country house in Co. Tipperary, that offers a truly private rural escape on the grandest scale. Ashley Park House is idyllically situated between the rolling hills of the Silver Mines and the eclectic lake landscape of Lough Derg - right in the heart of Ireland. It is only five minutes west from Nenagh, only 30min away from Thurles, Cashel, Limerick or Roscrea. And only a 2h drive away from Dublin.

Set in 76 acres of beech woodland and formal gardens, the historic country house of Ashley Park looks over the peaceful shores of Lough Ourna.

The beautiful lake view and stone walled gardens provide a picturesque setting for weddings and a perfect backdrop for memorable photographs. They also invite to a stroll at any time of the year. Families with children will appreciate the secured grounds, where children can run freely and play.

With an excellent reputation for hosting weddings in Co. Tipperary over the past 15 years, Ashley Park House hosts weddings as if they were for their own family.
The warm atmosphere envelops you as soon as you enter. The elegant drawing room with open log fires provide an ambiance of comfort and sheer pleasure for  guests to relax and feel at home.

Ashley Park House is ideal for smaller weddings with up to 100 guests. But having the wide and beautiful grounds in the front, Ashley Park House is flexible to set up a marquise for more people.

Wedding Photographer, Coolbawn Quay, Co. Tipperary

We hired Anna to be our wedding photographer in Coolbawn Quay, Co. Tipperary, last summer (2010). We were absolutely delighted with the quality of the photos and album than she produced. She is a very nice lady that takes her job very seriously. It rained on our wedding day but Anna still managed to make our photos look amazing, she put in so much effort on the day and it was very obvious that she takes great pride in her work.

Anna made even the most normal photos come to life, she really has a flair for photography. Her prices were very fair and included more than most of her competitors. She is a very honest, reliable and professional lady that we would have no problem recommending in the future.

Thanks again Anna for all your hard work, you have made the memories of our day so special.

Wedding venue Coolbawn Quay, Co. Tipperary

One of my favourite venues for wedding photography is Coolbawn Quay Lakeshore Spa, a unique resort on the eastern shores of Lough Derg, in Co. Tipperary.

Coolbawn Quay is conveniently located only 15 min, from Nenagh, 30 min from Thurles, Roscrea, Birr, Killaloe, and Limerick, 1h from Galway and 2h from Dublin.

Coolbawn Quay is only 10min away from the lovely village Terryglass and Terryglass Church.

The church is close to the lake, where the couple can set off from by boat to get right to their reception at Coolbawn Quay! If you prefer to drive in a luxurious limousine you can contact Michael Hogan wedding cars Ireland in Terryglass who can drive you in a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 111 LWB, a Mercedes S-Class LWB, and a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in Regal Red:

For a wedding photographer this is a most romantic wedding location in Co. Tipperary with scenic backdrops to photograph family and friends and also to do beautiful portraits of the newly married couple!

The reception is held in a beautiful marquee with windows overlooking Lough Derg. The food is excellent, the staff is local and always very friendly and helpful!

If you want to chill from your exciting wedding day, Coolbawn Quay has also a small but luxurious spa on site with counter-current pool, sauna and steam rooms; body and beauty therapies and make-up are offered, and a local hairdresser will come to Coolbawn Quay - this place is simply the ideal wedding venue in
Co. Tipperary!!

Hausmann Kitchens Ireland. Commercial Photography

It’s winter time… It’s time for some commercial photography!

My latest commercial photography project brought me to Dublin. I photographed some interiors, hand made by Hausmann Kitchens, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Hausmann Kitchens do not only produce kitchens, as the company name suggests, but all sorts of top class functional furniture.

This kitchen was a beauty! Everything about it waspure elegance and functionality! I loved the colours! And the light and spacious room made it easier for me to photograph.

In this photograph I had to work a fair bit around the window, as it was a huge contrast to my interior and almost burnt out.

I usually work my way from total views down to the details.

To show functionality and design is absolutely crucial for commercial photography.

I loved this inbuildt vaste bin!

And another interesting feature: The hand through from the kitchen into a separate dining room. Even though that wasn’t used very often, as the actual dining and social area was right behind my back from this perspective, opening up to a broad and light space…

…where I would just love to have my coffee and read the paper in the morning…
